This webinar will provide an up-to-date overview of what the scientific community knows about the effects of psychological distress and well-being on cardiovascular health risk and promotion. Factors that may underlie this association for cardiac patients and strategies for increasing mental health awareness, help-seeking behaviors, and access to care for patients will be discussed.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe the relationships of different mental health symptoms and conditions with cardiovascular health risk.
  2. Identify behavioral and physiological factors implicated in both mental health and cardiovascular health.
  3. Practice and implement strategies for connecting patients in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation to mental health care.

AACVPR is proud to offer year-round innovative webinar programming that speaks to our mission of reducing morbidity, mortality and disability from cardiovascular and pulmonary disease through education, prevention, rehabilitation, research and disease management. AACVPR’s Education Committee is seeking presentations for the upcoming calendar year for monthly webinars.

AACVPR is pleased to offer honorarium for selected presenters. Each selected webinar will be awarded $200 per content hour, to be divided evenly among the presenters.
